Triptych vs single posters: which should you buy?

Buy a triptych when one wall needs a single big statement made of three connected panels hung side by side; buy single posters when you want to mix characters, build a gallery wall or spend less. A Shinra triptych is one artwork split across three matching panels, sold as a set, and in paper it is priced as three posters with a bundle discount already applied.

What a triptych actually is

A triptych is one image cut into three panels that hang side by side. Each panel is a complete print on its own, but together they read as a single wide artwork. Shinra sells them as one set, so you order once and receive all three panels.

Triptychs come in paper (A5, A4, A3, 12×18 and 16×24 panels), acrylic (A4 and A3 panels) and metal (8×12 panels). Single posters are sold in more sizes and in framed and canvas as well.

Wall impact: one scene or many

A triptych is the better choice when the wall above a bed, desk or sofa is wide and you want one scene to own it. Three panels fill a wide space far better than one portrait poster, and the gaps between panels give the artwork a gallery look.

Single posters win when your taste is mixed. If you follow several series, or want to swap one print when a new season drops, singles let you change one piece without redoing the wall.

How the pricing works

A triptych set is priced from the single poster in the same material and size, multiplied by three. In paper, a bundle discount is already included in the set price, so a paper triptych costs less than buying the same three panels as three separate posters. Acrylic and metal triptychs carry no bundle discount.

A paper triptych also counts as three posters toward the multi-buy discount on your cart, so adding one moves you up the ladder faster than a single poster would. The exact current price of each set is on its product page.

Which material suits a triptych

Paper is the best-value route and the only one with the larger 12×18 and 16×24 panels, which suit a big empty wall. Acrylic gives a glossy, high-contrast set that sticks to the wall without nails. Metal is the most durable and the one for humid or splash-prone rooms.

Whatever the material, panels are cut from the same artwork so the picture continues across the gaps. Where an A4 or A3 panel differs slightly in proportion from the artwork, the image is trimmed evenly from the centre rather than stretched.

Which one should you pick?

Choose a triptych for a single favourite series on a wide wall, for a bedroom or gaming setup that needs one focal point, or as a gift where a three-panel set feels more complete than one poster.

Choose single posters for a gallery wall, a mix of characters, a small wall, or the lowest possible price. Many people do both: a triptych as the centrepiece with a few A5 or A4 singles around it.
