Which anime poster size should you buy for your wall?

Every size in centimetres and inches

A5 is 14.8 × 21 cm (5.8 × 8.3 in). A4 is 21 × 29.7 cm (8.3 × 11.7 in). A3 is 29.7 × 42 cm (11.7 × 16.5 in). 12×18 is 30.5 × 45.7 cm (12 × 18 in), slightly larger than A3 and in the standard 2:3 poster ratio. 16×24 is 40.6 × 61 cm (16 × 24 in), the largest standard paper and framed poster Shinra makes.

Small spaces: desks, shelves and monitors

A5 and A4 are the sizes for close-up spots: beside a monitor, on a bookshelf, on a corkboard. You read the artwork from arm's length, so a small print holds its detail. A single A5 looks small from across a room, so keep it for places you are close to.

A single poster above a bed or desk

A3 is the first size that works as a statement piece on its own. 12×18 is a little larger and follows the classic poster proportion, which suits portrait artwork that was drawn in 2:3. Pick the one whose proportion matches the artwork you like; both read well from a few metres away.

An empty wall or the focal point of a room

16×24 is the size to choose when the poster is the only thing on the wall. It carries from across a room, which smaller sizes do not. For a wide wall, consider a triptych instead: three panels side by side fill width that one tall poster cannot.

Gallery walls: mixing sizes

A gallery wall works best with one or two larger anchors (A3 or 12×18) and several A5 or A4 prints around them, with a consistent gap of a few centimetres between frames. The multi-buy discount on paper posters counts every poster in the cart whatever the size, so mixing sizes does not cost you the discount.
